The curve is a generalization of the Cornu spiral,
for which the curvature is linearly
related to the arc length s. The polynomial form in the arc length s leads to
the name of polynomial spiral.
Another name for the curve is the generalized
Cornu spiral.
Examples:

- dφ/ds = s: Cornu spiral
- dφ/ds = s2: double clothoid
